In this significant season of International Women’s History Month, we take a moment to honor and celebrate a woman whose life and ministry stand as a testament to obedience, impact, and unwavering commitment to the call of God—Pastor Bunmi Onilude.
There are women who serve, and there are women who lead—but there are also women who become institutions. These are women whose lives transcend titles and evolve into movements that shape destinies and influence generations.
Pastor Bunmi Onilude is one of such women.
Based in Lagos, Nigeria, she is a visionary, pastor, preacher, teacher, evangelist, writer, poet, author, wife, and mother. Yet, beyond all these remarkable roles, what distinguishes her most is her deep obedience to God and her willingness to fully embrace her divine assignment.
She is bold in her faith and unapologetic about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She carries the message of Christ into diverse spaces, reaching people across nations and cultures without limitation. Her ministry has extended beyond physical boundaries, effectively utilizing digital platforms to connect with and disciple individuals she may never meet in person.
Pastor Bunmi exemplifies courage and humility. She is not afraid to step into new territories or confront challenges, and she understands the importance of seeking support when necessary. This balance has strengthened her leadership and broadened her impact.
Her heart for people is evident. She ministers to women, men, boys, girls, the young, and the elderly alike—ensuring that no one is excluded from the reach of God’s love. Her passion for reaching the “unreachable” continues to define her work and expand her influence.
In many ways, she reflects the enduring spirit of Sojourner Truth—demonstrating that true ministry cannot be confined within walls. Pastor Bunmi builds community wherever she goes, creating spaces of growth, healing, and discipleship, even in unconventional environments.
A remarkable expression of her vision is the establishment of the Deborah School of Ministry. With a global reach, this initiative has equipped young women with foundational truths about their identity in Christ, practical understanding of ministry, and the tools to function effectively on a global stage
The graduation ceremony carried profound meaning. Participants were adorned with a Sojourner Truth Stole, symbolizing identity, voice, and legacy, and each added their signature as a mark of commitment to their journey. The stole was thoughtfully designed and created by Minister Sylvia Small of Columbia, South Carolina, USA, whose contribution we sincerely appreciate.
In recognition of Pastor Bunmi’s extraordinary impact, Celebrating Women in Ministry has prepared a special Sojourner Truth Stole in her honor—an expression of gratitude, unity, and love. We are pleased to share that the stole has arrived from Nigeria with signatures intact, representing a beautiful collaboration of hearts across nations.
